Where are you located?
We are located at slip 1019 in the Boat Basin dock located next to the Grand Union parking lot. From the parking lot facing the water, the boat is located on the left side of the dock next to all of the other charter boats.

Where do we park?
Parking is always a challenge so make sure that you leave enough time to park prior to the trip. In July and August, it is not uncommon to spend 30 minutes finding a parking space so make sure you plan accordingly. We cannot extend the trip if you are late.

When should we arrive?
We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the schedule trip.

What type of fishing experience do I need to have?
None. The captain and mate will teach you everything you need to know. We want you to enjoy the experience and not be intimidated.

Is there a minimum age limit?
No. We have kids as young as 4 catching fish on the boat. We often take families with babies and toddlers. There is plenty of room on the boat to stay out of sun and away from the angling action.

What species do you fish for?
Depending on the time of year, we fish for black sea bass, bluefish, striped bass, bluefin tuna, sharks (thresher, mako and blue), fluke, dogfish, false albacore, bonita and scup.

What should we bring on the charter?
Be prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, jacket, camera, food and drinks. We will provide the ice and coolers.

What does Absolute provide?
All fishing tackle, bait and ice.

Will I get sea sick?
On rare occasions, people experience sea sickness. The boat is very large and stable so it is unlikely that sickness will occur; however, if you are prone to sickness, then we recommend that you obtain an over-the-counter remedy at the drug store.

Can we keep the catch?
YES! Subject to state and federal fishing regulations, you can keep what you catch. Your mate will filet the catch at the end of the trip. Enjoy!

Can we bring alcohol?
Yes, a limited amount of beer and wine is allowed on the trip. Be responsible.

Do I need to tip the mate?
Yes, the mate relies on tips and is there for your enjoyment. Generally, we recommend you tip the same amount that you would tip waitstaff at a restaurant, 20%.

Will we catch something?

Yes, we guarantee fish on our 2.5 and 5 hours trips. We are not able to make this guaranty for any of the off-shore species such as shark and tuna.

Do we get the whole charter to ourselves?
Unless indicated, your charter price includes the entire boat along with the captain and mate.

Do we need to wear a life vest?
No, the life vests are meant to be worn in the water, not on the boat. They are made of hard foam making it difficult for anglers to fish and maneuver on the boat. Please bring your own life vest if you wish to wear one on our trip.

Will you cancel the trip because of bad weather?
This is the captain’s decision. Usually, the captain will make the call the day of the trip. Do not assume that the trip will be cancelled based on rain or a weather forecast. We will typically make fish in the rain. Make sure you consult the captain prior to the trip.
